There is no one in the world who lives a perfect life lacking problems. Some problems are unarguably more intense than others, but no one is excused from the stresses of life. There is a young child who has had little to nothing to eat today and then there is you, who has failed an exam. Both these problems are extremely valid, don’t allow anyone to tell you otherwise. But do you know why the child who has had just a little something to eat today still has a smile on their face and you are sulking longer than you have to? Sometimes it all comes down to gratitude.
In the middle of taking care of ourselves mentally, it is important not to put too much pressure on ourselves and understand that it’s perfectly okay to have a bad day. Not every day will be filled with rainbows and sunshine. We’re humans, and sometimes we will feel down. Embrace all those emotions and don’t try to sweep them under the rug.
Happiness is found in appreciating and enjoying every season you’re in. There is a lot of negativity that comes with expecting to be happy when you’ve reached a different season in your life. “I will be happy when I’ve graduated”, “I will be happy when I’m rich”, “I will be happy when I am married”. So in the meantime, are you going to be unhappy because you’re still in school? Are you going to be unhappy because you don’t have a lot of money?
